The Modern Hope is the latest release from RAFTSIDE, the musical project of multi- instrumentalist Filip Markiewicz. The album takes listeners on a sonic journey where indie dance, hyperpop, and ’90s breakbeat converge, creating a world that is both rhythmic and introspective, anchored by classic songwriting.
Written primarily on piano and recorded using analog synthesizers and drum machines, the album was crafted between Hamburg, Luxembourg, and Ostrowiec in Poland. It unfolds like an intimate diary, blending collective memory with the pulse of new disco. Featuring the singles Daydreaming, Midnight Sun, Afternight, DNCNG, and All We Need, The Modern Hope reaffirms RAFTSIDE’s distinctive sound — a fusion of infectious beats, atmospheric synths, and surreal, socio-political lyricism — a modern pop that makes you dance as much as it makes you dream.
