Joep Beving turns a piano and total silence into one of the most quietly addictive experiences in music today. What started as a self-taught pianist recording quietly at home turned into one of the most unlikely streaming phenomenons in classical music, landing him on Deutsche Grammophon and packing out concert halls across Europe.
Often mentioned in the same breath as Nils Frahm, Max Richter, and Ólafur Arnalds, Beving has carved out his own space in the neo-classical world. He just wrapped a 10th-anniversary tour of his breakout debut Solipsism, and now he’s back with something new: Liminal, a 15-track meditation on change, transformation, and letting go of control. Tracks like “Elysium,” “When Humans Do Algorhythms,” and “Wild Renaissance” don’t just play in the background, they slow your breathing down, pull you out of your head, and put you somewhere quieter. Live, it’s even more disarming: no orchestra, no spectacle, just Beving and a piano, holding a room in total silence for an hour. People leave these shows changed, not just entertained.
That’s the show coming to Rockhal on Sunday, October 4th for a rare night to just sit, listen, and feel the music.

Cécile Lacharme is a French cellist and composer creating immersive instrumental music between neoclassical, ambient and contemporary sound art. Performing solo with cello, live looping and spatial sound, she transforms one instrument into rich, orchestral landscapes. Her debut album Dérives was released in 2026, and she has performed and recorded with artists including Queens of the Stone Age, Hoshi, Waxx, Snorri Hallgrímsson and Coline Rio.
